evilblades - Get specific when you offer a source to back up your argument. You were pretty specific that "Palin signed the budget where the money for rape-kits were removed" and it has to be considered bogus - which it is because she didn't - until you give up a source that I can verify. And sending me on a wide goose chance through the teenage encyclopedia of WIKIPEDIA may be good enough for you, but it's not how real sourcing is done in the grown up world.

try: "Did Sarah Palin make rape victims pay for their own rape kits?" at factcheck, a neutral site. and if you check timetables you see that the charging of rape victims started shortle after she fired the former police chief (who apparently had a former relationship with her sister or something), then hired fennon, who worked hard to keep the system billing rape victims (and keeping women from reporting it).

Factcheck has been discredited for its bias toward Obama. For their three resources used to produce the Factcheck article you cited, they list Jessica Yellin at CNN (major in the tank for Obama), the very (Obama biased) USA Today hit piece that started the anti-Palin rape kit controversy in the first place, and a discredited paragraph from an article in the Wasilla Frontiersman. evilblades, I simply pointed out that you kept bringing up other subjects instead of providing the source for your claim against Palin - which I requested four times. As for talking about Norway, I'm sure it's a nice country but I have no interest in discussing Norway's problems, especially here on a site specifically set up to discuss Sarah Palin.

evilblades - Croft is an anti-Palin Democrat who tried to make the "state-wide rape kit law" a "Wasilla and Palin" controversy AFTER Palin became the VP nominee. He lied about Wasilla being the focus of the law. Wasilla and Palin were NEVER EVEN MENTIONED in the six meetings held by the legislative committee discussing the law before it was enacted. There is NO evidence that Wasilla EVER charged a rape victim. Eric Croft tried to use this issue to discredit Palin as a pure partisan attack.

Wasilla was mentioned later when he was asked if it was possible that she didn't know it (meaning that the police chief supposedly was in charge) they never implied that Wasilla was the only town,or that palin was the only mayor,, but at this point she is the ONLY potential VP in alaska. does it matter if croft is a democrat?, you expect republicans to push the case?. he described Wasilla as one of those towns (didn't said the only) that fought the bill. but it is the only with a VP candidate

from the horses mouth, police chief Charlie Fannon, the police chief palin placed in the position after having fired the last one for dubious reasons said: "In the past weve charged the cost of exams to the victims insurance company when possible. I just dont want to see any more burden put on the taxpayer" when croft put up house bill 270, Wasilla and especially fennon fought it, and i still haven't found a SINGLE reliable report of palin denying that billing them for rape-kits was practiced

Fallon has never explained what he meant by that comment or if he even made it at all. There were a couple of "words put on their mouths" statements in that Frontiersman article. Further, FBI records and the Deputy Administrator of Public Health in Alaska have said there is no evidence that Wasilla EVER charged a victim for a rape kit. So who am I most likely to believe?
In the justice system of the USA, one has to have EVIDENCE and in the absence of that, a person is presumed innocent.

Wasilla wasn't the only town that charged victims, but wasilla and especially Fennon fought the fill for six months, and frankly Wasilla was pretty much insignificant until Palin became governor and still is. its a small town of 7000 citizens, why would they mention it specifically or aim the bill especially at Wasilla. but as croft later said, Wasilla was one of the towns that fought the bill

There is NO EVIDENCE that Wasilla EVER charged a rape victim. Either disprove that point by discrediting the Alaska Deputy Commissioner of Public Health or stop making the claim - REPEATEDLY.
Why would WHO "mention it specifically?" And the bill was NOT AIMED at Wasilla. Croft was a partisan Democrat manufacturing an attack against Palin when she became the VP nominee - years after the bill was enacted. We've covered this territory ad naseum. Come up with some evidence or get off it.
