A brilliant oration. The only reason the pharmaceutical application of marijuana is outlawed is as a political bargaining chip at the expense of those that need it. Tobacco? Legal. Medical benefits? Nil (negative, it's a poison). Alcohol? Legal. Medical benefits? Nil (negative). Morphine? Legal. Benefits? very debatable. Take so many legal prescriptions, the side-effects are frequently horrendous. Why is marijuana illegal? It's easy to grow, and so it's hard to tax.

Mcain/Palin have promised to toughen existing marijuana laws. Pocession of even small amounts would result in manditory prison sentences. A Mcain presidency could swell the existing prison population to over 5 million in the first four years!

I was always under the impression that medicinal weed was monitored to have a smallish amount of THC content. Why else would this guy be needing that many joints a day to counter his effects? I guess I can't accurately put myself in his shoes, though.

why would you need recovery support when a legal, regulated market for adult consumption of cannabis would eliminate Gangs and Criminals from profiteering, when it would make it harder for kids to buy with age restrictions, and would allow for easy and widespread medical research without massive red tape. Because they profit from the status Quo, that's why

It's called an LD-50 which means 50% of the test animals died from that amount. They estimate marijuana at 1:10000 or 1:20000. What this means is that you would have to smoke 1500 pounds of it to induce a lethal response. But there is a catch. You have to do it in 15 minutes or it won't induce a lethal response. No one will ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER (I'll say it once more) EEEVVVEEERRR die from this plant. Decriminalize!!!!!
